(Daily360.com) – Celebrities had a wide range of responses in the aftermath of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on July 13.
During a campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania, a bullet grazed the ear of Trump and the Secret Service brought him to the ground to protect him from further bullets. Corey Comperatore, a Trump supporter in attendance, died from the stray bullets as he shielded his wife and children from getting struck by the bullet.
Kid Rock used expletives as he said anyone who messes with Trump also messes with him. 50 Cent posted his song “Many Men (Wish Death)” alongside the iconic photo of Trump pumping his fist with blood dripping on the side of his face. John Rich, a member of the country band Big & Rich, said Trump is unbeatable in an election so they tried to shoot him instead.
Tenacious D, a musical comedy duo, canceled the rest of their tour following a controversial statement by Kyle Gass at an Australian concert. It was Gass’ birthday, so Jack Black was singing “Happy Birthday” to his bandmate and asked him to make a wish. Gass said he wishes that they don’t miss Trump next time. Jack Black said he was caught off-guard by the comment and in response he canceled the rest of the tour. Black also said all future creative plans are on hold.
Gass issued an apology for the joke he improvised on stage by calling it “highly inappropriate” and “dangerous.” In the aftermath of Gass’ assassination joke, his talent agent dropped him as a client.
Other celebrities and rappers have claimed that the election is over in the aftermath of the assassination attempt. Conservative commentator Candace Owens echoed that remark while sharing the photo of Trump pumping his fist following the failed assassination by 20-year old Thomas Crooks. Others have speculated that Trump showed his strength in the aftermath of the shooting which will sway undecided voters when comparing it to President Biden’s poor debate performance.
