FBI Investigating Eric Adams After Discovering Chinese Trips Cover UP

(Daily360.com) The FBI is investigating New York Mayor Eric Adams for connections and communication with the Chinese Communist Party. The mayor took seven trips to China and he used private email addresses to arrange these trips. At least one of the trips was paid for by the CCP, but the details from the private email communication have not been revealed.

The email communication allegedly occurred between 2014 and 2021 when Adams was the Brooklyn Borough president and his top-aid Wendy Greco communicated on his behalf to arrange the China trips. The mayor’s office made a statement regarding the FBI’s search for email communication and suggested that the FBI didn’t do a diligent search of the records. The office sent a letter to the Brooklyn Borough asking them to correct the record and perform a more detailed search to find the records.

Greco’s home was raided by the FBI in February as part of an investigation that she used her political position to obtain personal benefits. Last year, the FBI began an investigation of Adams for allegedly receiving illegal contributions to his campaign from the Turkish government. Adams has not commented on that FBI investigation and has retained attorneys from the law firm WilmerHale.

The FBI has not disclosed its intent for investigating Adams’ trips to China and it is unknown what they are trying to find. During Adams’ 2014 trip, he went to schools and museums. He also met with leaders of local city governments, including Beijing and Shanghai. $787 was paid by the CCP and Sino-America paid $7,000 for expenses on the excursion.

The mayor’s office also responded that it was not improper for Adams to use private emails for this communication, because it was related to non-government business. Greco, Adams’ former aide, is reportedly working for the Asian affairs department of New York. She has allegedly been a “consultant” to organizations connected to the CCP for a long time.
