(Daily360.com) – Has Democrat Pennsylvania Democrat senator John Fetterman split from his popular left-wing wife? That is the question circulating on social media in recent weeks. Gisele Barreto Fetterman came to national prominence during her husband’s very unique run for the Senate in 2022. As John was recovering from a stroke, his speech and motor skills had been seriously affected, leaving Gisele to speak for him on a number of occasions.
Gisele Fetterman, a Brazilian national, was an outspoken supporter of left-wing causes and was herself an illegal alien when she arrived in the United States. Gisele Fetterman was so popular among Democrats there was serious speculation that should her husband win the seat and not be healthy enough to perform his duties, that she could step in and hold it in his stead. There were a number of reports that the governor of Pennsylvania was willing to do that, leading to speculation that was the Democrat plan all along.
John Fetterman become something of a living internet meme. Content creators use footage of him stuttering and speaking nonsensically in a debate with his Republican opponent Dr. Mehmet Oz, for example. Many also mock his choice to wear casual shorts with hooded sweatshirts in the Senate chamber and his confused, somewhat rambling questions during Senate hearings.
Then things took a unique turn, John Fetterman disappeared for six weeks and it was later revealed he was undergoing treatment for clinical depression at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
In media and other appearances since his release Fetterman has been far more coherent and seemingly less far-left as well. The internet memers who had been mocking him started posting video clips of him, proclaiming him “Fetterman 2.0.” The Senator came out strongly for Israel in its conflict with Hamas and also spoke about the need for a strong U.S. border.
Gisele Fetterman became far less visible during this time and then suddenly wiped her social media accounts of all photos and references of her husband. Many speculated and some even stated that the couple had broken up. This lasted for some days before Gisele Fetterman posted to her social media that she was simply taking a social media break because she was “bored with it.” She called social media users terrible, citing how she was talked about more during her three weeks off social media than she had been while on it. She went on to defend her husband’s position on the border, seemingly confirming that they are indeed still together.
