(Daily360.com) On June 26, a report regarding Michelle Obama’s absence from the campaign trail for President Biden stated that she was frustrated with the Biden family for their treatment of Michelle’s friend and ex-wife of Hunter Biden, Kathleen Buhle.
According to the news report, a source close to Michelle provided the information, and she expressed her frustration because she had become close to Buhle during the Obama administration, when Joe Biden was her husband’s vice president.
Barak Obama, the former president, supports Biden’s re-election on social media and in videos for the campaign, but his wife has not been involved. When Hunter and Buhle divorced in 2017, according to the source, Michelle thought that Hunter’s family treated Buhle poorly.
Hunter’s infidelity and drug use plagued Buhle throughout their marriage, and his recent gun charge trial exposed his infidelity. Hunter’s ex-girlfriend, Hallie Biden, was the widow of his brother, Beau Biden. Hallie testified in the trial that their relationship began near the end of 2015. During that period, Buhle and Hunter had separated, yet they were striving to salvage their marriage.
In 2015, Biden began to discuss entering the race to seek the US presidency. President Obama discouraged him from entering the race, as he had already decided to support Hillary Clinton in her presidential campaign. During that year, Biden’s son, Beau, died from cancer, which affected the Biden family greatly. It was also the beginning of marital trouble between Hunter and Buhle, which eventually led to their divorce, according to news sources.
During Biden’s bid for the presidency and the current reelection campaign, former President Obama was and is an effective supporter.
Crystal Carson, Michelle’s spokesperson, stated that President Biden has Michelle’s support in his re-election campaign. She stated that she believes both her friendship with Buhle and the Biden family to be genuine.
