Putin Silent After Latest Terror Attacks

(Daily360.com) Russian President Vladamir Putin has yet to comment on the recent wave of terror attacks that occurred in south Russia on June 23. Attackers used automatic firearms inside an Orthodox church and synagogue, which killed the Russian priest. At least 20 people were killed in an attack in the Dagestan republic, which is a region comprised mostly of Muslims. A church and traffic police post were also attacked in Makhachkala.

Putin has not specifically made comments regarding the attacks, but Russia has blamed the terrorist attacks on the United States. They say that Ukraine led the attack and they did so with weapons provided by the U.S. The former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said the U.S. will “burn in an earthly fire” following the terrorist strikes on June 23.

The former president referred to the leaders of the U.S. and Ukraine as “bastards” for striking peaceful individuals spending time on the beach. Medvedev further stressed the moral failings of the terrorists for choosing an Orthodox holiday to commit the atrocities.

Other reports indicate that the terror attack was planned and executed by Russians. Politician Magomed Omarov was fired by the Dagestan governor following reports that his family members were involved in the attacks. Omarov was interrogated regarding the involvement of his sons and nephews in the attacks.

Russia has been investigating the acts of terror and have reportedly killed five suspects that were believed to be involved. That includes two of Omarov’s sons and two of his nephews. Governor Sergey Melikov said Omarov will be held fully accountable if he is found to be involved in the terroristic acts. Melikov also said parents are responsible for reprehensible acts committed by their children.

Melikov asked how Omarov could hold such a high-ranking position to care for the people of the whole region, but fail to raise his children to not be murderers. Omarov had eight sons, all of which are being investigated for any association with the crimes committed on June 23.
