Amazon Launches Budget-Friendly Grocery Brand

Amazon has introduced a new private-label brand known as Amazon Saver, aimed at providing cost-effective grocery options both in-store and online. This significant step is in direct competition with retail giants such as Target and Walmart. Leveraging its extensive distribution network and advanced technology, Amazon aims to offer competitive pricing without compromising the quality of its products.

The launch of Amazon Saver is part of Amazon’s broader strategy to provide more value to shoppers struggling with inflation. Most products within the Amazon Saver line are priced below $5, allowing consumers to stretch their budgets further. Prime members also benefit from an additional 10% discount on these already economical items.

Enhanced Prime Savings and Expanded Product Range

Amazon has expanded the Prime savings program at both Amazon Fresh stores and online. As a result, more than 3,000 grocery items now offer greater savings for Prime members. Prime members receive up to 50% off on a rotating selection of 8 to 15 products each week and 25% off on over 1,200 rotating Prime-exclusive grocery and household essentials.

“With expanded Prime member savings, the introduction of the new Amazon Saver brand and simplified online shopping, it’s now easier than ever to get your weekly grocery shopping done on a budget with Amazon Fresh — whether you’re browsing the aisles or filling your online cart.” – Claire Peters, Amazon Fresh worldwide vice-president

Additionally, Amazon Saver’s initial product rollout includes a variety of essential items, with plans to expand to more than 100 products covering categories such as crackers, deli meats, and canned fruits and vegetables. This expansion reflects Amazon’s commitment to offering a comprehensive grocery shopping solution that combines affordability with convenience.

Revamped Digital Shopping Experience

Amazon Fresh’s online storefront has also received a significant update to streamline navigation and introduce new features. Customers can now enjoy a more intuitive browsing experience with themed shopping zones and a simplified category-based system, making it easier to find specific products quickly. Prime members can also benefit from customizable shopping tools like repeat items and recurring reservations.

“We’re always looking to make grocery shopping easier, faster and more affordable for our customers.” – Claire Peters, Amazon Fresh worldwide vice-president

The online enhancements include convenient pickup and delivery options, with free pickup at Amazon Fresh locations and home delivery services available. The newest features are designed to simulate the in-store shopping experience, allowing for a smoother and more efficient grocery shopping process.
