Biden Policies Put Female Prisoners in Danger

(Daily360.com) President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice gender identity policies in prisons cause harm to female inmates. Two attorneys who have previously worked in the Civil Rights Division’s Special Litigation Section have sounded the alarm about the Biden administration’s harmful policies towards women who are housed with males who identify as transgender “women.” The attorneys wrote an op-ed for Newsweek and said the administration is the Civil Rights of Institutionalized Persons Act (CRIPA).

On his first day as president, Biden signed an executive order calling upon federal agencies to prevent discrimination on the basis of gender identity. A 2020 investigation into CRIPA compliance in New Jersey found that the state was putting inmates into female or male prisons based on their gender identity rather than sex. A settlement was reached in which the jails were called to protect individuals from sexual harassment and abuse. Shortly thereafter, there were several reports of transgender “women” raping and impregnating biological women in New Jersey prisons. A new investigation has not been opened.

An investigation also occurred in Georgia, while California passed a bill called the Transgender Respect, Agency, and Dignity Act to require prisons to house transgender individuals where they feel most safe. Sex is illegal under all circumstances in prisons, but California prisons installed condom dispensers to counter the issues of transgender women impregnating biological women.

Women’s prisons do not separate the inmates by the violent degree of the crime as they do in men’s prison. There are documented cases of men with criminal histories abusing women identifying as women before being housed in female prisons. Meanwhile, 92% of women in jails have experienced assault, but the prison system is not protecting them from further brutality.

Most prison assaults do not get reported, so the scale of the problem is unknown. The Biden administration’s policies prioritize gender identity over the protection of biological females being housed in prison. California’s condom dispensers confirm that the sexual desires of biological men are more important than the safety of the women they are housed with.
