Dungeon’ Home Man on Trial for Kidnapping and Murder

(Daily360.com) – A man faces trial for murder and one witness says she was tortured and sexually assaulted in a dungeon underneath the man’s house. Timothy Haslett is facing murder charges for the death of Jaynie Crosdale and was arraigned on July 9. The first charges against Haslett occurred in October 2022 when a survivor came forward after she escaped the dungeon she was being held in.

According to the survivor, Haslett was in an area of Kansas City that is well known for prostitution. She agreed to go with him back to his house in exchange for money. He took her to the basement, which she described as a dungeon. The dungeon contained torture devices and cameras, which is where she was tortured and raped for weeks. She was able to escape when Haslett was away from the house. She believed he was taking his child to school at the time.

Authorities found pictures that showed two other women in the basement of Haslett’s home. They also found over 100,000 pictures depicting the choking and restraining of women. They were primarily screenshots taken from adult websites.

The survivor said Haslett described killing two other women and threatened that the same would happen to her if she didn’t listen to him. Haslett allegedly said the woman would end up in a barrel like they did. Crosdale was found in a barrel in the Missouri River by kayakers in June 2023. After the survivor came forward, authorities attempted to find Crosdale as a potential witness in the case. Authorities have just now brought charges against Haslett for the murder of Crosdale.

The Crosdale family issued a statement and said the moment was “bittersweet.” They were happy to see charges being brought against Haslett for Crosdale’s murder, but say she was taken way too soon. They also described Crosdale as a “nice, kind-hearted person” and they were crushed by her untimely death.
