Liberal Media Gaslighting Public Over Biden’s Rapid Decline

(Daily360.com) Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said every video of President Biden looking confused or frail is a “cheap fake.” This prompted commentators on social media to reference the George Orwell book 1984. In the book, Orwell says the final and most important command of the party was to ignore the evidence that is presented to your eyes and ears.

Jean-Pierre referenced a Washington Post article that said Republicans used a barrage of “cheap fakes” to attack President Biden. The more common term that has been heard regarding digital alterations to videos is “deep fake.” Deep fakes may not be real at all because they are generated or altered by AI technology. Cheap fakes, on the other hand, are real videos that have been altered with simpler software. They may also present a scene out of context in order to generate a certain perception.

NBC attempted to fact-check some of the videos that were shared that question Biden’s mental acuity. One video was shared widely from the D-day ceremony in which Biden starts to bend over before standing back up. Speculation on the internet was that he had a medical accident that sometimes happens with elderly people who might wear adult diapers. NBC news said the video in question actually shows Biden start to sit down in a chair before realizing it wasn’t yet time to sit down.

Another video that was widely shared shows President Biden staring into the audience before former President Obama escorts him off the stage. Republicans have shared this video to say that Biden didn’t know it was time to exit the stage. NBC news said Biden was acknowledging the crowd that was giving him a standing ovation before a “more punctual Obama” grabbed his arm to lead him off the stage.

Karoline Leavitt, a spokesperson for the Trump campaign, made a similar statement as Orwell did in his 1984 book. She said Biden’s campaign strategy is to get the public to disbelieve their own eyes.
