(Daily360.com) Donald Trump says that Vice President Kamala Harris will be easier to defeat than Joe Biden in the upcoming November election.
Harris has presumptively earned enough delegate support to be declared the Democratic party presidential nominee at the DNC convention in August. Following the announcement of Biden’s resignation, a Trump super-pac released a video slamming Harris’ record as vice president. The ad says Harris knew about Biden’s declining health and lied to the American public.
Another key point that the Trump campaign is latching onto is that Harris has served as the border czar in the Biden administration at a time of record illegal immigrant crossings at the southern border. Gallup polling data shows that the most important issues in America are the economy and immigration.
The Trump campaign will also tie Harris to the 41-year record high inflation that occurred under the Biden administration in 2022. The Federal Reserve has an annual average inflation target of 2%, but it reached 7.1% in 2022. Americans have noticed increasing prices at the grocery store and one report details the higher costs of a July 4th cookout between 2022 and 2024.
Shortly after the announcement that Harris was a likely candidate to become the 2024 presidential nominee, a video from a 2020 presidential debate resurfaced. In the video, Tulsi Gabbard slammed Harris’ record as a California prosecutor. Gabbard said Harris blocked evidence that would have freed an innocent man on death row and locked up people for marijuana possession. Gabbard also said Harris kept prisoners beyond their terms so the state could use them for cheap labor. It is unknown whether the Trump campaign will use any of these talking points that occurred during the Democratic party primary debate in 2020 before Joe Biden was ultimately chosen as the nominee.
The Trump campaign has had to shift their messaging strategy and resources in the wake of the announcement, but they are not concerned. The campaign plans to label Harris as the “enabler-in-chief” that supports all of the disastrous policies of the Biden administration.
