(Daily360.com) – King Charles celebrated his 75th birthday earlier in the week and the guest list was a who’s who of British royalty. The King’s eldest son, the Prince of Wales, William, and his wife Princess Kate, were photographed leaving the party in their sporty black Audi late in the evening. William dressed in a sharp black suit and Kate stood out in a sequined emerald green gown. The party took place at the King’s former residence, Clarence House, the London townhouse built in 1825-27 for the Duke of Clarence, the third son of King George.
Among the royals attending were the King’s wife Queen Camilla, her son Tom Parker-Bowles, Princess Margaret’s daughter, Princess Beatrice, Lady Sarah Chatto, and Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Tindall along with her husband, former rugby player Mike Tindall. The King’s late mother, Queen’s Elizabeth’s racing manager John Warren and Sarah Troughton were there as was her former lady-in-waiting, 84-year-old Lady Susan Hussey.
Others who were in attendance included the King’s second cousin, the Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire, Sarah, the Countess Mountbatten of Burma, and Penelope Knatchbull. British musician Jools Holland toasted the King as the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester looked on and raised a glass. The late Princess Margaret’s son David Armstrong-Jones, the 2nd Earl of Snowden, was there as well.
The King’s younger son Harry has famously removed himself from the royal circle and relocated with his wife, American actress Meghan Markle, to California. They were not invited. The relationship between Harry and Charles has been reported to be cold and non-communicative for at least the last six months. However, Harry did call his father for his big day, and the couple sent a video featuring their children Prince Archie, four, and his two-year old sister, Princess Lilibet. During the call the King and Harry made plans to speak again within the next week, perhaps signaling a repairing of their relationship.
