(Daily360.com) – After last week’s State of the Union (SOTU) address, Joe Biden was caught on camera in a semi-private moment joking about his perceived cognitive decline. After finishing his remarks, Biden mingled among elected Democrat members of Congress who offered him congratulations, handshakes, and fist bumps. As he gripped hands with allies, New York Representative Jerry Nadler (D) approached Biden and jokingly remarked that “nobody” will say he is “cognitively impaired now” because of his performance.
Biden turned to Nadler and responded by saying “I kind of wish sometimes I was cognitively impaired” and the men exchanged laughter. Many viewers of the SOTU were not as complimentary of what they viewed. They saw Biden as divisive and angry.
He was also not free of gaffes and inaudible moments. One memorable moment revolved around Republican House Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia. Greene wearing a red “Make America Great Again” cap and red blazer with a button reading “say her name” yelled out to Biden while he was speaking. She shouted about the subject of that button, Laken Riley, the 22-year-old nursing student allegedly murdered by an illegal alien.
Biden seemed to become confused but then held up the same button that Greene had given him prior to the speech and referred to the woman as “Lincoln Riley.” Surprising many, for the first time Biden acknowledge her murder and that she was likely killed by an illegal alien. After the speech he has since apologized about characterizing the man as an “illegal” and said he should have referred to him as an “undocumented” person. At other moments during the SOTU Biden mumbled words that were not understood by viewers.
Biden’s campaign has had to fend off numerous allegations that the president may not be up to a second term. He’s had several caught-on-camera moments of confusion, freezing up, and general temper outbursts. Adding to the issue was Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report that portrayed Biden as being unable to stand trial due to mental decline despite what may be clear evidence of law breaking on his part.
